Rod and Sherry were appointed by AGWM as missionaries to Panama in 1993 after 16 years of pastoral ministry and Christian education involvement in the Northwest Ministry Network. They retired from full-time missionary service in October 2022, but continue on assignment, providing leadership to the Latin America Resource & Training Center in Panama and helping with ministerial training in Spanish-speaking countries as able.

Rod and Sherry served as Coordinators for ChildHope (formerly Latin America ChildCare) in Panama from 1995 to 2021 where they minister to nearly 10,000 children and youth in the 35 Assemblies of God Christian schools in the country. They also served from 2000 to 2020 as members of the ChildHope Leadership Team and as ChildHope Regional Coordinators for the 175 schools and 40,000 children and youth in the seven Central American countries. Rod served as Coordinator for Educational Ministries for the 19 Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America and the Caribbean from 2009 to 2020, providing leadership to ministries from local church discipleship through the master’s level. Rod and Sherry served on the Resource and Advisory Center leadership team from 1995 until 2020, serving as directors from 2003 through 2018. The Center serves the 1,000 Bible schools and extensions in the Latin America / Caribbean region.

Since 2015, Rod and Sherry have overseen the construction of the Latin America Resource and Training Center in Panama to support educational ministries throughout the Spanish-speaking Latin America and the Caribbean region by empowering leaders, training teachers and providing resources.

FAMILY INFORMATION

Rod and Sherry make their home in Lynnwood, WA.  Rod (Sept. 8) and Sherry (April 9) were married on June 5, 1976.  They have two grown daughters, Stephanie and Jennifer, and four grandchildren.

Stephanie and Andrew McNamar were married in August 2001 and live in Connecticut. They have two children, Tate Rose (April 17, 2006) and Calvin Boyd (October 5, 2009).

Jennifer and Geoff McKeown were married in August 2006 and live in Lynnwood, WA.  They have two children:  Anastasiya (Stazy) Maria (March 9, 2010) and Finnian Boyd (June 19, 2013).
