Back in Panama!
By Rod and Sherry Boyd
We’re back in Panama! What a great
feeling to see the tall buildings as we flew in to Panama
City. Then to see the smiles and hugs of our team at our
office conveyed the clear message… Welcome home!
Budget
Update. We’re so grateful to all who came through in the month of
June to help us meet our monthly commitment budget. We have 95 churches and
34 individuals that have made monthly commitments. Please pray with us that
our generous support team will remain faithful so that we can ministry in an
equally generous way. Pray especially for those churches that are not able
to give according to their monthly commitment. We could really use some
additional support to make up this difference. Please visit our
Support page.
Important Travel. We haven’t been able
to unpack our bags quite yet! We spent just 10 days in Panama in July. Most
of our time was spent on three important trips:
Santa
Cruz, Bolivia. We met with the Superintendent of Bolivia and
other key leaders to begin forming the local committee of the 2016
Educators Summit that is scheduled for Aug. 22-25, 2016.
We visiting three hotels with convention facilities and one of the larger
churches in the city. We are planning for a group of 400-500 leaders,
teachers and pastors from the South American countries. Please pray with us
as we are negotiating contracts at this time. This is the southern version
of the Educators Summits; the northern version will be held April
18-21, 2016 here in Panama City, Panama!
Santo
Domingo, Dominican Republic. We met with the national leaders
and expanding local committee that is working on details for the upcoming
2015 Educators Summit that will be held Sept. 14-17.
There was a high level of excitement as we talked about the theme – Lift of
Your Eyes – the same message we’ve been sharing in the churches in the US
the last several months. We are expecting that between 250 and 300 leaders,
teachers and pastors will attend the Summit, probably 80% or more from the
Dominican Republic. Please pray with us that the hard work of the local
committee will pay off!
Guatemala
City, Guatemala. We were privileged to work with another
Little Davey Project team to build and distribute computers for LACC
schools. We'll have a full report on the 2015 Little Davey Project
trip to Guatemala next month.
House Hunting. Please join us in prayer
as we are looking for the house, duplex or apartment. Rents have risen
dramatically since the last time we looked for a place more than 10 years
ago! Still, we know that the Lord has the perfect one for us.
We are so grateful to be back in Panama and back to work.
Thank you for standing with us in prayer and financial support.
