Pasco, WA Team Extends
Las Mananitas
By Rod and Sherry Boyd
A
group of 10 from Faith Assembly Christian Center, Pasco, WA
continued construction on the final corner section of the
first floor at the Las Mananitas High School. Associate
Pastor Mark Barker led the team. They worked hard to
complete nearly all the blocking on the classroom and two
restrooms. This was especially detailed due to a special
divider, a closet in the restrooms and the three doors. They
did a great job! Thank you Pastor Darrel and congregation of
Faith Assembly for your generous construction offering.
Pastor
Bruce Sullenger from Toppenish Assembly of God and a deacon
also joined the group. Thanks to an additional construction
offering from Toppenish Assembly, the team continued
construction of a second classroom, desperately needed for
next year. A concrete floor was poured the last day over the
two classrooms, two restrooms and hallway. Pastor Bruce
hopes to return with a small team in January to finish the
classroom and continue with other construction.
The team enjoyed interaction with the
children and youth from the school. The team visited
classrooms giving away candy and school supplies, and
praying for the needs of children and staff. The water
balloons were a real hit! The last day the children were
allowed to come to the worksite to give special cards and
gifts they made for team members, even a cake!
Anthony Daly, the very first student
sponsored by LACC at Las Mananitas, joined the work crew the
second week after classes. What a satisfying feeling to see
this young man give something back to the only school he’s
ever known!
The team enjoyed touring the Canal, sites
of Panama City, and the historic Atlantic side. Pastor Mark
shared the Word at the farewell service the last night. This
is always an emotional time to say goodbye to workers,
teachers and children.
Thank you Pastor Mark, Pastor Bruce, dear
friends Lou and Nellie Cousineau, Kevin, Steve, Larry, Leta,
Kristi and Mike. You have made a lasting impact at Las
Mananitas!
