Part 1 of Shortened
Itineration Ends/
Jehovah Jireh Good Shepherd School Construction Update
By Rod and Sherry Boyd
Merry Christmas! We just concluded three
months of services and return to Panama on January 7th!
Before we return, we’re going to enjoy the holidays with
family and friends. We’re grateful for the opportunity we’ve
had to visit both supporting and new churches and for the
generous offerings given for our ministry and for the
Jehovah Jireh Good Shepherd School.
We return to Panama to finalize plans for the International
Bible School Summit that will be held March 1-4, 2010 in
Managua Nicaragua and to continue planning the Central
America Christian School Congress scheduled for June 2-4,
2010 in San Salvador, El Salvador.
We then return back to the northwest mid-April for the
second part of our shortened itineration, returning to
Panama May 25th, just in time to finalize plans for the
Christian School Congress.
We are trusting that the Lord will provide our monthly
commitment needs. We need to raise an additional $1,200 in
monthly support to cover budget increases and commitments
that we have lost in the last four years. Please pray with
us that churches and individuals will respond to this need.
If you are able to help, please visit the
support page on
our website for details.
Jireh School Construction Update
We
want to say thank you to the many churches and individuals
who have generously responded with offerings for the ongoing
construction of the Jehovah Jireh Good Shepherd School. To
date, $6,000 has been given to this worthy project. There
are promises for another $2,000.
A total of $12,000 is needed to finish
the six classrooms on the third floor. Six classrooms were
finished on the second floor to accommodate growth this
year. Even so, the school has had to rent an apartment
building next to the school for classrooms and school
offices. Finishing the six classrooms on the third floor
will allow the school to move these children to the new
school building, saving thousands of dollars in monthly rent
paid over the course of the year.
The
school is also working on completing the first story
administration and library section. The next stage will be
to build the roof façade and stucco and paint the outside of
the building. The final stage will be to complete the four
classrooms and auditorium on the fourth floor.
There are 525 children and youth,
kindergarten through 12th grade, who currently attend the
school. When complete, the school will have a capacity for
800 students.
Classes finish this week at the Jehovah
Jireh School. Please pray with us that the remaining $6,000
will be given by January 31st so that we can finish the six
classrooms before classes resume in March. If you are able
to help with this project, please send your offering to:
